Thursday photos.

Lately I have spent a lot of time just taking photos of my family while we were just hanging around and having fun. I went to my brothers house and did a small photo shoot with my cousin. While hanging out I took photos of my brothers and nephew playing video games and such. I love the angle I got of my brother Jordan and the focus and lighting just seemed perfect. The photo of me and my nephew is one of my favorites, the colors of his orange jacket and my blue eyes just stand out the way I like. These photos all turned out well and im happy with what I have.

THURSDAYS!!

Thursday photos again have come around. This week there was tons and tons of rain, cold weather, and mornings left ice coated on everything. It was nice for a change in Tucson and I was able to capture some nice pictures. I caught the rainbow in the bottom picture when I pulled off the road after the rain had ceased. I also got the picture of the rain drops on the gate after it had rained and everything was cold and wet. In the top picture I was coming outside to warm up my car before school and saw the cactus skeleton with the sun shining through and I knew I had a take a few shots.

bootssm.jpg  Personal Photograph Prompts        The main focus of this group of photos that I took this week was objects. I took lots of shots of still life objects and worked on catching fun angles that helped make the photo more interesting. In the last few photos shown I had a couple shots that were repetitive and I love that. They leave you with the question of how far does the line go? How many are there? The colors in the photos are all very deep rich colors that are beautiful to look at. I enjoy looking at photos that have very bright jumpy colors. I really am very happy with this batch of pictures and if I had the option I dont think I would change anything about the pictures. I feel that I have developed a good way of using angles to help improve my pictures and I think it really shows in these photos. I’m very happy with them and hope you enjoy them as well;) Thursday Photos caylalasm.jpg jojosm2.jpg emca.jpg Personal Photography Prompts               The focus of my photos was friends and family. I took all of these pictures after a football game when everyone was just hanging around and having a good time. I think that the colors in my photos are very nice and the eyes look real pretty in a few of the shots. The one of my sister and her friend on her back is in a very soft focus but I actually really like how it looks. I think that the focus made the picture stronger. The backgrounds in my photos are all very simple as to not distract you from seeing the focus. I like how is every photo you can really see the expression and emotions of the people in the shot. It makes me feel happy so see their smiles and I can see how upset JoJo is by the look on her face. If I could change anything it would probably be to take more pictures next time. I think this assignment would be easier if I had a nice camera of my own at home but I am working with what I have.  More Thursday Photos victoriasm3.jpg andrewsm3.jpg shop7sm.jpg kissessm.jpg Personal Photography Prompts

Over fall break I went with my friends Andrew and his girlfriend Victoria to Sedona to see the red rocks and up to the Grand Canyon as well. The main focus in the pictures I took was people. I took photos of my friends and I when we were just messing around having a good time. The thing I think that I like the most about these pictures is the colors. All the pictures have deep, rich colors that I just LOVE to look at. The photos are successful and good to look at because the people in them are showing their emotions. You can see in the picture of Victoria that she is happy and playful and everyone likes to see that because it makes you feel that inside. If I could change one thing about the pictures I took it would be the background, because in some of the photos it’s kind of loud. These shots that I took help contribute to what I want to do because they are people expressing emotion and that’s one of the things I am working on perfecting right now.

Art Show Invitations  artshow3.jpg artshow2.jpg artshow1.jpg             In the advanced photo class we have Art Shows every few months and part of the job is to create the fliers to advertise and invite people to come look. Ms Mendoza uses the gallery for her Art class as well and the advanced photo class creates the fliers. These are the three fliers that I created for the various art shows. portraitsm.jpg

Artist Statement

My name is Moriah Kaye Yankovich and this is just a little bit about me. I was born in Tucson, Arizona and I haven’t left since, well except for vacations. I live with my six brothers, two sisters, and my two great parents. Life is always exciting with all of them around.  I am a senior at Canyon Del Oro this year.             Because I live in the middle of nowhere, when I go out with my camera to take pictures, I often end up with quite a few of nature. That desert is just calling me to snap some frames. I also take many pictures of my younger brothers and sisters; they love to have their photos taken. When I take pictures I always try different angles to make things look abstract and more fun. I like to take very colorful pictures, the kind of color that just calls out to you. I have many different photography artists that I admire but there is one that stands above the rest, and that is Dirk Frank. Dirk takes amazing photos of people. He has this way of capturing their feelings on camera, and his black and whites are just as beautiful as his colors. I am trying my best to learn from him along with the help of Mr. Street.                I want to be able to take all the things I have learned in my photo class to college with me. I plan on getting into the photography program at U of A right away, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get into a big art school eventually and hopefully get a masters degree in photography. My dream job would be to work with a fashion magazine taking pictures for them; I would also really enjoy taking pictures for a band or big music artist. These are just my dreams, so right now I’m working on making them come true. portrait1sm.jpg             Hey,  My name is MOriah Yankovich, im a senior at CDO high and this blog is to allow you to see and comment on my photos. Many of the pictures are from my advanced photography class at school. It is my second year in the Photo program and i love it, my teacher is awesome. So, check out my photos and let me know what you think of them…. Self Portrait Assignment       The self portrait assignment was really fun; I took the whole thing and just had fun with it. I have never used a self timer to take pictures of myself. When I took my self portraits I cleared my entire bedroom out and created my own little photo shoot. I changed my clothes every few pictures so that I could wear all of my favorite outfits. I’m glad I changed because it makes the pictures more interesting and colorful; I also had more choices to pick from for my final picture. The hardest part of the assignment was trying to zoom enough and focus the camera while making sure my body is in the right spot at the same time. If I could change something about my pictures next time then I would probably try other backgrounds instead of just my one red wall.  Overall though I enjoyed the assignment very much and would do it again.
